Battlefield 6 gets Tidal Strike update with new event and vehicle balance changes

EA is rolling out update 1.4.3.0 this Tuesday, closing Battlefield 6's Season 4 with the Deep Six event, proximity chat and vehicle balance changes.

EA began rolling out Battlefield 6's 1.4.3.0 update this Tuesday, marking the close of Season 4, dubbed Tidal Strike. The rollout happens in two stages: the download package becomes available in the morning, and the season's content is switched on server-side a few hours later, officially unlocking the new items and modes.

The update's centerpiece is the limited-time Deep Six event, which runs for nearly a month and rewards players with weapon packages, a new knife, and exclusive customization items. Unlike earlier drops in the season, which brought the Tsuru Reef map and three new weapons back in July, this closing chapter leans on events and quality-of-life tweaks rather than a brand-new multiplayer map.

Also arriving is proximity chat for the Battlefield Labs experimental mode, letting players hear nearby enemy and ally voices on the battlefield to add tension to close-quarters engagements. Over on REDSEC, the franchise's free-to-play battle royale mode, a new version of the Phantom Program — the progression and challenge system that has been iterated on regularly since the mode's debut — goes live.

On the balance side, the developer adjusted how water and light vehicles handle. Steering on the RCB-90 patrol boat has been reworked to feel more predictable during high-speed maneuvers, while minigun damage against patrol boats and armored transport platforms (ATPs) has been reduced, giving those vehicles a better chance of surviving sustained fire.

The update continues the steady cadence of support EA has kept up for Battlefield 6 since launch, alternating between new maps, weapons and seasonal events every few weeks. With Season 4 winding down, community attention is now shifting to what comes next, since the studio has typically detailed the following season's roadmap shortly after the current one wraps.

Players are advised to update their game client before jumping into the first matches of the day, as servers tend to see some instability in the hours right after major updates like this one, especially with events activating simultaneously in the core mode and in REDSEC.
